The most rewarding part of our job is helping home-buyers find the right place to call home, plant their roots, and thrive. Whether a family or an individual, a newcomer or someone from the area, it’s important to find the right place to make memories, build a family, and feel at home when buying real estate. Our team knows that home-ownership is a big investment, which is why Carney & Dement is so happy to represent such a growing and well-loved community. We want you to be excited about looking for real estate, and we are excited about Medina. Its growing popularity is a testament to the community’s excellence.

With quality programs, top-level educators, and Medina’s family-oriented atmosphere, Medina’s highly esteemed public schools are one of the biggest factors in the city’s recent growth. The academic excellence of Medina’s public school system is evident in the number of families who invest in Medina real estate specifically for the opportunity so enroll their children in Medina schools. Families know how important education is to the intellectual, social, and creative development of their children. Families from within the West Tennessee area and beyond are choosing to settle in Medina because they are confident in the public schools’ ability to foster successful, lifelong learners. Twenty years ago, Medina Middle School opened with just over 200 students. Today, the middle school educates nearly 900 students in fourth through eighth grade and has plans to add 16 new classrooms to the school.

Medina is also within easy reach of Jackson’s many private schools for families interested in privatized or faith-based education, as well as the area’s many top-ranked higher education institutions. These universities and colleges are more than great places to get a degree, they are cultural centers that often host events and activities open to the community.

"All three Medina schools are conveniently located to all neighborhoods. We love the overwhelming amount of parental involvement at the schools during any and all events that take place! The super clean schools with great learning environments and the emphasis on education and athletics are outstanding."

Because Medina is seated at the southern tip of Gibson County along Madison County’s border, many residents commute to Jackson or to the surrounding area. With a timely average commute of fewer than 30 minutes for Medinans, it is simple getting to work without the traffic of larger cities yet feels far away from the office when you get home at the end of the day. With a workforce of over 300,000 people, Jackson employs people from within Madison County as well as the many surrounding communities. The area’s low cost of living, low property cost, appealing business incentives, and Jackson’s active Chamber of Commerce attract big business and fuel Jackson and the surrounding area’s economy.

Medina’s historic downtown is also experiencing significant economic growth. With a community passionate about preserving the history of the city, investors interested in seeing local business thrive are revitalizing Medina’s downtown.

Medina is conveniently located near one of West Tennessee’s leading health care centers. Both Medina and Jackson’s neighbor, Humboldt, provide health care services to Medina, Madison County, Gibson County, and several other surrounding cities and counties. The city of Jackson also provides health care services to the surrounding area, a population of approximately 400,000 people, and attracts surgeons and physicians from around the nation. Jackson-Madison County General Hospital is both West Tennessee’s largest employer outside of Memphis and is the only tertiary care facility between Memphis and Nashville. The combined workforce of General Hospital and Jackson’s Tennova Healthcare infuses the local economy with hundreds of millions of dollars a year.

The Jackson-Madison County General Hospital has recently opened a new location in Humboldt, bringing in-depth emergency treatment closer to home for Medina residents. Humboldt Medical Center offers a wide range of care, including ultrasound, CT scans, X- rays, and physical and aquatic therapy. Because of Humboldt Medical Center’s

partnership with Jackson’s General Hospital, your medical records are available at both hospitals for easy processing and reliable care at either facility. The Jackson-Madison County General Hospital attracts leading medical professionals from around the nation and provides a full range of care from your routine appointments to open heart surgery. Jackson is also home to The Jackson Clinic, the state’s largest multi-specialty private clinic with over 130 physicians practicing in 25 specialties and sub-specialties.

Medina’s convenient location assures ease of access to a large pool of medical professionals and peace of mind from knowing the care you need is close to home.
